Raiders start baseball playoffs Thursday
      Cameron County carries some momentum into Thursday's return trip to the PIAA District 9 high school baseball playoffs. Coach Dick Harrier's Red Raiders (14-2) host the winner of Clarion-Limestone vs. A-C Valley in the D9 quarterfinals at 4:30.

      Coudersport carries a sparkling 13-1 record into the PIAA District 9 high school baseball playoffs, where there is no margin for error. Coach Doug McClintic's Falcons will entertain either Union of Keystone at CARP Field at 4:30 Thursday afternoon.

Austin, Emporium host Alle-Catt games Sunday
      Austin made a triumphant return to the Alle-Catt Amateur Baseball League Sunday, while Emporium scored an impressive win in its season opener. Both teams are at home this Sunday, as Austin hosts Port Allegany and the Olean Oilers visit Emporium. Games start at 2 pm.

Austin unbeaten in softball
      Austin improved its record to 5-0 in Potter-McKean Little League softball Tuesday with a 14-1 win at Otto Township. Hannah Glover pitched a no-hitter, striking out nine, she also cracked four hits and drove in eight runs. Jesse Riedmiller and Cheyenne Kio had three hits apiece.

      Cameron County's boys and Coudersport's girls came home with the championships at Friday's North Tier League track and field meet. For many of the athletes, it was a tune-up for this weekend's PIAA District 9 championships at Brookville.

Mullens to be part of 'Big 30'
      Cameron County High School senior Marcus Mullens has been selected to play in the 35th annual Don Raabe Big 30 Football Charities Classic. He'll suit up for coach Steve Ackerman as a member of the Pennsylvania All-Stars for the Aug. 2 game at Parkway Field in Bradford.
