Instincts drive elk to meet nutritional needs
      Pennsylvania’s elk need specific minerals and nutrients in their diet at certain times of the year. Cows need calcium and phosphorus for fetal bone development during the last trimester of pregnancy. Bulls require minerals to grow new antlers, beginning each year in the spring. In addition, all elk need minerals to grow two new coats of hair each year.

Turkey calling contest next weekend in Cross Fork
      A large turnout is expected for the annual Kettle Creek Outdoor Show, to be held on Saturday, March 27, in Cross Fork. A turkey-calling contest sanctioned by the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) and sponsored by that organization’s Ben Stimaker Chapter will be held in conjunction with the Kettle Creek Valley Business Association.
