Clarice Stewart

Clarice E. Stewart, 84, of Port Allegany, and formerly of Mount Jewett, died Monday (Aug. 21, 2006) in Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born Nov. 9, 1921, in Kane, she was a daughter of William and Sadie McElphatric Reigel. On Nov. 13, 1943, in Follansbee, W. Va., she married Chester C. Stewart, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Stewart was a past member of the VFW and American Legion in Mount Jewett. She had been an avid bowler.

Surviving are six daughters, Donna Moore of New Castle, Del., Patricia Causer of Mount Jewett, Carol Chopra of Frederick, MD., Virginia Landis of Dubois, Linda Reinard of Port Allegany and Sharon Lobaugh of Newark, Del.; six grandsons; eight granddaughters; 20 greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Donald Reigel of Emporium and Frank Reigel of Mummford, Okla.; two sisters, Mary Dickenson and Dorothy Null of Gifford; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, one sister and an infant daughter.

Funeral services were private. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
