'Pa Pellets' Gets $325,000 State Grant

A new wood-pellet production plant near Ulysses has been awarded a state grant of $325,000.

That money, combined with private funding, will be used to purchase equipment at the "PA Pellets" business.

According to the Pa. Energy Development Agency, the grant is part of a statewide allotment of $6.4 million to support 16 "clean energy/renewable resources" projects.

The Ulysses plant will produce wood pellets from indigenous resources, including sawdust and forest-thinning byproducts, a PEDA official said.
