Verda Belser

Verda A. Belser, 91, of 200 Pleasant St., formerly of Melvin Avenue and Interstate Parkway, died Monday (July 10, 2006) at The Pavilion at BRMC.

Born in Munderf on April 11, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Grant and Edith Heitzenrater Dixon.

On March 9, 1935, in Emerickville, she married Cecil E. Belser, who died Aug. 11, 1973.

She had been employed at Ott and McHenry Pharmacy for 15 years as a sales clerk. She was a member of the Hill Memorial United Methodist Church, the Faithful Sunday School Class and AARP.

She is survived by five grandchildren, Wendy (Bob) Thomson, Diane (Donald) Rounsville, Randy Belser and Karl (Toni) Belser, all of Bradford, and Jennifer (Ed) Muszala of Tucson, Ariz.; 14 great-grandchildren; 14 greatgreat grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; step sisters, Audrey Murray of Falls Creek, and Erma Tibbits of Fredericksburg, Va.; two brothers, George Dixon of Emporium, and Nelson Dixon of Jackson, Calif.; several nieces and nephews and her former daughter-in-law Bonnie Silvis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Lawrence Belser, who died Jan. 24, 1999; three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. David Bunnell, pastor of the Hill Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating.

Committal services and burial followed in McKean Memorial Park Lafayette.

Memorials, is desired, may be made to the Hill Memorial United Methodist Church or The Pavilion at BRMC.Josephine Olivett of Mount Dora; a daughter, Bonnie Colling of Laguna Woods, Calif.; two brothers, Robert and Bernal Olivett, both of Emporium; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Community Chapel Church of God in Mount Dora.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Harden/ Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis.
