Austin Team Wins Golf Tournament

Austin Area School District hosted the 7th Annual Robert McNally Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament on Monday, July 10 at Emporium Country Club. Seven teams participated is this annual event.

Second place went to the Emporium Country Club Team players: Brandon Kahnell, Harry Jones, Joe Clingan and Matt Zoschg.

First place went to the Austin Area School district Team: Matthew Hutcheson, Mike Schwartz, Larry Moon and Dave Brown.

Other teams who participated are: Citizens Trust Company, Stan Dunsmore, Clark Lerch, Ed Schott, Bud Toombs; VFW Post 7810, Robert Keck, George Goodyear, Paul Corey and Gene Greeley; Smethport Area School District, George Romanowski, Corey Cochran, Larry Rondinelli and Kurt Weaver; Northwest Savings Bank, Steve Erway, bill Robinson, Sr., Bill Robinson, Jr. and Dennis Furman; and TriCounty Rural Electric, Craig Eccher, Gerald Duffee, Gerry Kite and Bob McCarthy.

A chipping and driving contest was held. The chipping contest was won by Gene Grecley. The prize was a 20" Flat Screen TV. The driving contest was won by Dennis Furman. The prize was a Big Bertha Driver. The tournament ended with a Steak Dinner and several door prizes were given out to the participants.

All proceeds from the tournament will be put toward a Scholarship that will be awarded to a member of the Class of 2007.
