Two Raiders Named To All-Stars

Two members of PIAA District 9 champion Cameron County Red Raiders have been named to the first ever Big 30 All-Star Baseball Team.

Senior Paul Baker and sophomore Cameron Clingan were among 14 players from the baseball playing high schools in northcentral Pennsylvania and the southern section of upstate New York named to the inaugural Big 30 squad.

Coudersport senior Kyle Kockler was the only other Pennsylvania player chosen.

Baker, who will continue his athletic career at Clarion University during the 2006-07 school year, finished with an impressive .525 batting average, including a team-high six home runs. He was a steady presence at third base and also saw time on the mound.

Clingan was one of the most effective pitchers in PIAA District 9, compiling a record of 82. He also saw time at first base. A hard swinger at the plate, he connected for five round-trippers.
