Caregivers Invited To Support Group Meeting

Residents of Emporium and the surrounding area who are caregivers for a person with Alzheimer's disease are invited to attend a Community Nurses support group meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 9 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at their Emporium location at 313 S. Chestnut Street.

Community Nurses is initiating this support group in Emporium upon the request of several Emporium residents who are caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's disease.

The meeting will be led by Jeanette Malburg, Community Nurses Social Worker.

Alzheimer's Support Group meetings offer help and educational support to caregivers. Those who are coping with the stress of caring for an Alzheimer's patient will benefit from the educational expertise of a health care profeszsional, as well as the support of others who are facing similar challenges.

Adventure of the Treasure Seekers (Exploring God's Promises) will be this year's theme at Vacation Bible School to be held Aug. 7 to Aug. 11.

Daily sessions will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 9 p.m. and will be held at the Austin United Methodist Church on Turner Street in Austin. On opening night, registration will begin at 6 p.m.

According to a spokesperson, children age 3 years and older are welcome to attend and VBS is being sponsored by the Austin, Costello and Keating Summit United Methodist Churches and if you need further information call 647-5507.
