John Boyer

John William Boyer, 83, of 148 Kings Highway, died Friday (July 21, 2006) at Beverly Healthcare-Hillview.

He was the son of late Stanley and Martha Boyer. He married Anne Marie Gunarich, who died Jan. 23, 1986.

Mr. Boyer was of the Methodist faith. He retired as supervisor of machine maintenance at North American Phillips with more than 40 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He had raised beagles throughout his life.

Mr. Boyer was a member of Masonic Hall, Bellwood Eagles, American Legion, Bavarian Aid Society, Unter Uns, Elks, VFW and Bellwood Beagle Club.

Surviving are a son, John T. Boyer Sr. (Lenka) of Hollidaysburg; a daughter, Judith Anne Boyer (Jack Dudley) of Charlottesville, Va.; two grandchildren: John T. Boyer II and Allison V. Boyer; and a brother, James Boyer of Emporium. A brother, Thomas, was killed in action in WWII.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday (July 23), at Stevens Memorial Chapel by Pastor Wayne Magruder. Interment was at Morningside Cemetery, Dubois.
