Summer Reading Club Wraps Up

The Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library Summer Reading Club concluded on Aug. 3 with a party attended by 47 of the student readers who completed their reading goals for this year's club.

A total of 65 youngsters signed up for the Summer Reading Club and of that number, 50 finished the program. This year's theme: "Paws, Claws, Scales and Tales" was highlighed by a special program presented by Ray Owen, national recording artist, award winning songwriter and entertainer, appeared at a previous Summer Reading Club and was so enthusiastically received at the party that the Library was fortunate to obtain his services again this year.

Following Owen's entertainment, Club participants were treated to a pizza party,

and were awarded their reading certificates and a goodybag which included age-appropriate books, T-shirts, animal caps and other items highlighting this year's special animal theme.
