Mary Benedict
Mary Patricia Benedict, 69, of 119 Carson St., died Tuesday (Aug. 8, 2006) at the Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys.
She was born May 28, 1937, in Ridgway to Bernard and Rose V. Bauer Brennan. On Oct. 4, 1958, in St. Mark Catholic Church, she married Donald Benedict, who survives.
She graduated from Cameron County High School, class of 1955. Years ago, she worked at Bernie's Tavern as a waitress and a cook. She also worked at Penn Vend preparing food and later at Sheetz Convenience Store until she became ill.
She was a member of the St. Mark Catholic Church and had been in the choir.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Andrew Benedict of Boothbay Harbor, Maine; Paul Benedict of Sterling Run; and Michael Benedict of Corry; two grandchildren; three sisters, Frances Guisto of Emporium; Margaret Summerson of Emporium; and Terri Patrazio of Moneta, Va.; and a brother, Michael Brennan or New Bloomfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation was held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thurs. at the Barnett Funeral Home Inc., where a vigil service was held. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the St. Mark Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul S. Siebert as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mark Catholic Cemetery.
