Bill Gennocro

William (Bill) F. Gennocro, of Houston, died (Friday, Aug. 4, 2006) in the Washington Hospital, following a six-month battle with cancer.

Born May 24, 1929 in Emporium, he was a son of Angelo and Michela Fragale Gennocro. He graduated from Emporium High School, received a Bachelor of Science degree (Business) from Indiana University of PA, and a Master's Degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

On Aug. 23, 1952, in St. Patrick Church, he married Catherine Arnone, who survives. Mr. Gennocro taught one year at Canonsburg High School, followed by 35 years as an accountant for several corporations including: RCA, McGraw Edison, Universal Cyclops and Falconi Enterprises.

He was a member of St. Patrick Church, Knights of Columbus #3291, Social member of American Legion Post 902, Washington County Italian American Association, Sons of ItalyLodge 758 and National Italian American Foundation, and the Jefferson College Historical Society, Canonsburg.

Bill enjoyed golfing, belonging to Dogwood Acres, Couples at Chippewa, and former member of Washington Country Club. He also enjoyed bowling in Route 19 Sr. Citizens League and Knights of Columbus (SNPJ). He was a volunteer at Canonsburg Hospital.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a sister, Anna Guisto of Emporium; a brother, Joseph (Shorty) Gennocro of West Seneca, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Anthony, James and John; and a sister, Jenny Tittio.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday (Aug. 8) at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg. Burial was in St. Patrick Cemetery.
