In a demonstration of true community spirit, about 125 people turned out to support last weekend's fund-raiser at the pool for the Lukaschunis family, who lost their home and most of their belongings in a recent fire. The lifeguards, who sponsored the event, donated their time. The evening included music, games and refreshments. Many items awarded as prizes were donated by Emporium and St. Marys businesses. At the end of the night, the lifeguards presented proceeds of $500 to the family.
