United In Marriage

The Costello United Methodist Church was the setting for the August 12, 2006 wedding which united Sarah Ann Fowler and Thomas Allan Lucas. The bride was escorted to the alter by her father Victor Fowler (Donna) of Port Allegany. Pastor John Baney performed the double ring ceremony. The bride's mother is Darlene Irwin (Steve) of Emporium. The groom's parents are Betie Gates of Coudersport and Glenn Lucas (Linda) of Emporium.

Sarah is a 1993 graduate of Austin Area School and Thomas is a 1986 graduate of Union City High School. He is employed at GKN in Emporium as a forge set up man.

The bride wore a white floor length tank style gown with beaded bodice and her mothers 1971 head piece with new veil attached and a rhinestone headband. She carried a bouquet of white and lavender silk roses with ivy and babies breath. Her attendents wore two piece floor length tank style gowns and carried sprays of silk roses and daises. All flowers were arranged by Sheree Lamer of Austin. Matron of-Honor was Dundee (Rees) Nelson of Port

Allegany. The bridesmaids were Cassie Fowler (daughter of the bride) and Rebecca (Rees) Stuckey of Austin. Flower girl was Ally Nelson of Port Allegany.

The groom and his groomsmen wore black jeans and long sleeved white dress shirts and black leather vests with silk rose boutineers. Best Man was Jesse Hooftallen of Austin. Jr. groomsmen were Damian Lucas of Costello and Brett Lucas of Emporium (Nephews of the groom). Ring bearer was Adam Fowler (son).

Following their 6 p.m. wedding the couple enjoyed their reception with about 120 guests at the Austin-Costello Sportsmens Club. Family members made food for the event. The cake was by Jenn Leightly of Austin and music by DJ Dan Mahaney of St. Marys. As favors the couple gave out home made CD's of love songs written and performed by Thomas Lucas (groom) and mixed by Stacy Welsh of Austin. After a four day honeymoon to Erie and Salamanca the newlyweds continues to make their home at 125 Ripple Drive in Costello.
