EVFD Plans Oct. 10 Open House

An open house scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 10, at the Emporium Firehall will mark the annual National Fire Prevention Week. From 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., citizens are encouraged to visit the firehall for free hot dogs and soft drinks.

"This is in appreciation of the continued support our community shows for the fire department," said Fire Chief Butch Housler.

Free fire truck rides and blood pressure screenings will be available. EVFD volunteers will also demonstrate the proper use of fire extinguishers and answer questions about fire safety and other topics.
