Local Businesses Sponsoring Program For Students For the 10th school year, local businesses have contributed to the Woodland Elementary School Student Recognition program. There are three parts to the recognition program. One facet of the program involves a drawing. Teachers submit the names of students who have been "caught being good". At the monthly drawing, 16 names are pulled from the "Good Bin". Names are put in the bin for many reasons including good behavior, good manners, helping others and remembering homework. Second part of the program recognizes students with perfect attendance for the nine weeks and all A's for the nine weeks. Students could receive awards for both. A student receiving a certificate has several choices as to how it is used. A certificate could be used for a meal or video as designated. The end of the school year brings yet another opportunity to earn a prize certificate. This certificate could be for perfect yearly attendance and all A's or all A's and B's on an entire report card. Again, the certificates can be redeemed for various items. Participating in the program this year are Fox's Pizza, Sheetz, Cabin Kitchen, Pizza Palace Plus, Charleys, Subway, Burger King, Unimart, Admit One, Soft Serve Emporium, Sinnemahoning Sportsmen Club, Emporium Country Club, and Olivett's Market. |
