Kids' Pizza-Making Contest Oct. 7

Children 12 and under can demonstrate their pizzamaking skills and win prizes at Smith's Pizza Palace Plus in Emporium on Saturday, Oct. 7, as part of a national competition involving independent pizzerias.

Contestants are challenged to make a kid-sized pie with their favorite ingredients, including olives. The pizza will be baked and judged at Smith's, which was one of the businesses chosen from thousands of pizzerias nationwide to host the competition.

Each contestant gets one uncooked pizza dough and a selection of sauces and toppings. The winning pizza pie will be named by its creator and added to the pizzeria's menu.

One winner randomly selected from participating pizzerias will be awarded a visit by a World Pizza Champion Team member to learn some pizza acrobatic tricks. Registration is now open at Smith's Pizza Palace Plus. Contest rules are posted on the Internet at www.lindsayolives.com/ kidspizzacontest.
