Walters Attends Convention Erie and Crawford counties co-hosted the 2006 Pennsylvania State Coroner's Annual Meeting and Convention recently in Erie. A majority of the Pennsylvania Coroners and their staffs, including Cameron County Coroner Ted Walters, were in attendance. In addition to a series of meetings, a variety of topics was presented including archival of old records by Larry Reymore of OMSS in Erie and presentations by CORE, PA Child Death Review and the Attorney General's Office who discussed "Drug Endangered Children." Keynote speakers were: Dr. Rob Middleberg, forensic toxicologist from the NMS Labs of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania with updates in this field. Dr. Eric Lee Vey, forensic pathologist of Erie County and the North West Pennsylvania Autopsy Group. He discussed post mortem changes, blunt and sharp force injuries, gunshot and shotgun wounds and asphyxia. Bradley Foulk, Erie County District Attorney. He discussed the legal considerations of the death scene. Dr. Phylip Peltier, "The Blue Dye Guy." His topic was suspicious burn injuries. Dr. Peltier is the world's authority in immersion burns in children. He has taught all over the world, has testified in numerous high profile cases and is highly regarded in the forensic arena. |
