Autumn Fest Today

Methods of doing things from times gone by like hand-crank cider-making are among the neat activities that take place each year.
Sizerville State Park will be buzzing with activity today during the park's 16th annual Autumn Festival.

From noon until 4:00 p.m., visitors can experience colonial skills and crafts that pioneer families used around the house and homestead in this part of Pennsylvania.

Hands-on craft tables will include pumpkin painting, candle dipping, cornhusk dolls, pioneer games, apple cidering, sun prints, leaf banners, candy making, tin punching, birdseed art, papermaking and leather working, all at no charge.

There will be exhibits on beading, maple syrup products, tatting, knitting, wood carving, crocheting, apple cidering, kettle corn and natural dyes.

Smokey Bear will be making a guest appearance at 2:00. Food vendors and musicians will also be on hand.

Those attending are asked to use designated parking areas, since all events are within walking distance.
