Agnes Hodge

Agnes M. Hodge, 83, of Emporium, died at Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006.

She was born Nov. 20, 1922 in Pottersdale, a daughter of the late Homer and Mildred Hanley Stroup.

On Dec. 22, 1938 in Karthaus, she married the late James W. Hodge.

Mrs. Hodge retired from Sylvania where she worked for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving is one daughter: Mildred "Sis" (Jake) Ellenberger of Driftwood; one son, Gary Hodge (Helene) of Davenport, Fla., seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, two sisters: Faye Kolivosky of Smethport and Evelyn Coudtriet of Pottersdale.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Terry Hodge; one brother, Leo Stroup; three sisters, Raye Stiles, Peg Scalfaro and Luella Eschenfelder.

Funeral service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, on Monday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dwight Simpson, Pastor, down county Baptist Church, officiating. Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home, on Monday from 11a.m. to 2 p.m.,

Burial will be in the Geno Cemetery, Pottersdale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Grove House, 436 Old West Creek Rd., Emporium, PA
