on Rt. 49 in Harrison Township. Daniel White, 18, of Genesee told police he was blinded by the sun and did not see the buggy before he struck it in the rear with his Dodge. The impact forced the buggy into the guardrails. A passenger, 41- year-old Rebecca Gingerich, and a 13-year-old girl suffered serious injuries. The driver, Mahlong Gingerich, 42, along with a 15-year-old boy, and a six-year-old girl, received moderate injuries. Two other children were slightly injured.
St. Marys City Police were summoned to a Center Street home Saturday morning for a medical emergency, where they found a woman to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Michelle Werner, 27, also faces charges of endangering the welfare of a child.
Thieves made off with a hot tub from a residence along the Million Dollar Highway near St. Marys. The victim is James J. Nissel, who told police the equipment had been on his porch for about a week and disappeared.
The theft of two tractors from Howard's Kubota on the Ice Mine Road in Sweden Valley last week is under investigation by state police from Denton Hill. Sometime between 6:30 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. Friday, thieves made off with the tractors which had been parked in the dealership's lot.
An Elk County motorcyclist suffered serious injuries Sunday night when his bike skidded across the opposite lane along Rt. 255 in Force and ejected him. State police said 47-year-old Michael D. Hoffman was southbound at about 6:10 when the mishap occurred. Hoffman struck a guardrail. He was taken by medical helicopter to Altoona Hospital.
Another motorcycle driver was injured when his cycle struck a deer on West Creek Road, near the Elk County Industrial Park in St. Marys Tuesday night shortly after midnight. Richard J.
Farabaugh was driving a 2000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle east when a deer jumped in front of the motorcycle. Farabaugh applied his brakes and was ejected, landing on the berm, about 75 feet from the point of impact. He was airlifted to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh.
Two pickup trucks parked on Clear Creek Road in Shippen Township were burglarized, according to state police from Emporium. Someone stole the license plate from a truck owned by Nathan A. Snyder and took several tools from the truck owned by Ryan M. Snyder.
State police charged two Emporium men with disorderly conduct following a fracas in front of a downtown tavern early last Friday morning. The accused are David A. Nellis and David A. Keller.
A Galeton man operating a go-kart on a forestry road in northern Potter County was seriously injured Wednesday evening when the vehicle was struck by a pickup truck. State police identified the victim as Charles J. Loucks, 24.
Someone made off with a welder from the Woodcraft Lumber lot on Rt. 49 in Ulysses Township sometime between last Friday and Monday morning. The Miller Bobcat 250 is valued at about $3,200.
