Fair Leaders Looking To Improve Cameron County Fair Association leaders will continue their discussions on proposed improvements to the annual tradition during their next meeting, scheduled for 7:00 Monday night at Beaver Hall, Cameron County Fairgrounds. Members are encouraged to attend and the public is also welcome at this monthly meeting. Board members are discussing several alternatives to expand the fair, starting as soon as 2007. They've discussed adding carnival rides and improving the nightly stage entertainment. Fund-raising alternatives have also been studied, including an admission fee, but no decisions have been reached. Meanwhile, improvements are being made to the fairgrounds. This summer, Pa. Agriculture Secretary Dennis Wolff honored all of those people involved in operating the Cameron County Fair over the years. It was named among 36 "Century Fairs" in the state. Cameron County's fair started in 1901. |
