'Wetlands' Tour Oct. 21

Those critical environmental areas known as "wetlands" will be spotlighted during a canoe tour scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 21, at Sinnemahoning State Park.

Park naturalists will guide the tour from the boat launch area of George B. Stevenson Dam at 3:00 p.m. Plant and animal species that depend on wetlands will be discussed. Visitors might also get a look at the bald eagles that nest near the lake.

Novices are welcome. Basic canoe and water safety instruction will be presented before the tour. Canoes, paddles and flotation devices will be provided as part of the $8.00 per-person fee.
