Shirley Smith

Shirley Quaker Smith, 78, a resident of the Warren Manor, and formerly of 18 E. St. Clair St., died on Friday (Oct. 6, 2006) at the Warren General Hospital following a lengthy illness.

She was born Aug. 25, 1928, in Emporium, the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Mabel Foster Smith.

She was a housekeeper at Warren General Hospital for many years, retiring in 1995.

She is survived by three sisters, Beverly Smith of Emporium, Gladys Lingenfelter of St. Marys and Dorthy Smith; many nieces and nephews; and longtime friends, Valery and Leroy Hoffman of N. Warren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters, twins Thelma and Velma, Mary Ann, Eddie and Evie Smith, and Joyce Wilson; a brother, Martin Smith; and a stepbrother, Raymond Miller.

A memorial service was held at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., E. Warren, with the Rev. Marcus Briggs officiating.
