Apple butter festival: Old times, good times

Over 1,200 apple dumplings were made by the "apple dumpling gang" and sold during the Apple Butter Festival held in Austin last Saturday. Over 1,000 people attended the event, feasting on every goodie that can possibly be made with apples, perusing sales tables and listening to the sweet sounds of "Freznel Lens,"the Christian band that provided the day's entertainment. Event is sponsored by the Austin United Methodist Church. Its proceeds benefit the church's ministries. Above, Vicky Brewer stirs the huge kettle of apple butter.
