Something fishy in Big Moore's

The theft of some trout from the Big Moore's Fish Hatchery in Sylvania Township last Wednesday is being investigated by troopers. Owner Roy Magarigal told authorities his field camera recorded

two suspects

netting a

number of trout

and placing

them into a

cooler. The pair

then walked back to the road, where they rendezvoused with an accomplice and fled in a vehicle.

An Emporium man escaped injury when he swerved his truck to avoid several deer that entered the road, causing the vehicle to roll over an embankment and come to rest on its roof. State police said Robert Hoffower, 21, was southbound on Clear Creek Road at about 12:15 Friday morning when then animals darted into the road. The pickup was severely damaged.

Charges of motor vehicle theft and driving under the influence of alcohol have been filed against Michael J. Haynes for an incident taking place in the early morning hours last Sunday. State police from Emporium said that as they responded to a theft report filed by Terry Fulton of Driftwood, they apprehended Haynes behind the wheel of the stolen vehicle westbound on Rt. 120, between Sinnemahoning and Driftwood.

Someone stole a pizza and vandalized a car at the David Zuback residence on Main Street in Sinnemahoning last Tuesday or Wednesday. State police at Emporium said the burglar entered Zuback's home through a broken window, stole the pizza and removed car keys on a kitchen table. The keys allowed access to Zuback's car, where the burglar rifled

through the glove box and scattered its contents around the vehicle's interior.

Two Emporium residents face charges stemming from an altercation last Friday evening on Cherry Street. State police charged Robert Uber, 40, with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. Diana Reed, 43, was charged with harassment.
