GED registration Monday There will be a meeting to register for the General Education Development (GED) test at 3:30 Monday afternoon in the choral room at Cameron County High School. This meeting is mandatory for anyone planning to take the GED test locally before the end of 2006. Proof of identification as well as a copy of the practice test scores should be presented. Preliminary forms will be signed and test dates announced. Anyone seeking additional information should contact Dr. Sharon Malizia at 486-4473. GED tests were developed in 1942 and originally used to test veterans of World War II to determine whether they were qualified to attend college. All states use the GED test as a basis for awarding high school equivalency credentials. Recent national surveys confirm that most U.S. employees consider the GED credential in the same manner as a high school diploma. Almost all U.S. colleges and universities accept the GED transcript for admissions purposes. Upon successful completion of the GED test, a diploma will be issued through the Pa. Dept. of Education. |
