Harold Gates

Harold Justin Gates, 88, of Roanoke, VA died Saturday, (Sept. 23, 2006) at Raleigh Court Nursing Home.

He was born in Sizerville on De. 27, 1917. He had lived in Roanoke the past 44 years and was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Jane Victory Gates.

He is survived by sons George Gates (Rita) of East Williamson, NY, Orville Gates of Roanoke, VA; daughters Arneata Cope of Crawfordsville, IN and Betty Gates of Coudersport; eight grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren one greatgreat grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Oakey's North Chapel on Sept. 28, with interment in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke.
