N. Potter soccer season comes to end

Northern Potter trimmed Kane's 2-0 lead to 2-1 with about 13 minutes left in Monday's PIAA District 9 soccer playoff game, but could get no closer.

The Wolves held on for the one-point victory, while Coach Jeff Barber's Panthers closed out their playoff run. They finished the season with an overall record of 10-11.

Northern Potter found itself on the defensive throughout the first half, but trailed just 1-0 at the intermission. The Wolves tacked on what proved to be the game-winner several minutes into the second half.

Cody Kibbe answered with a goal, setting up a furious finish that included several nearmisses before time ran out on the Panthers.
