'Pride' events Sunday

Austin Community Pride Committee will hold two events on Sunday at the firehall. A chicken and biscuit dinner will be served from noon to 4:00 p.m. Cost is $5.00 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12. Proceeds will be used for the 2007 fireworks display.

The Christmas Bazaar will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Chosen For Conference

Two Austin Area School students, Whitney Crosby and Rayna Valenti, have been nominated to attend the National Youth Leaders Conference.

Exceptional high school students from around the country will travel to Washington D.C. to learn how they can develop leadership skills and reach career goals.

The two are planning several fund-raisers to help cover their tuition by March 2007.

Tree lighting Dec. 3 Austin's annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held ay 6:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at the town square. There's still time to claim a tree for decorating by contacting Kim Henderson at 647-8790.
