Carol Miller

Carol Minard Miller, 79, of Lindenwood Court, Emporium, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2006, in Elk Regional Medical Center, St. Marys.

Born March 8, 1927 in Buffalo, N.Y., she was the daughter of Lionel and Ida Abrams Minard who predeceased her. She was married to James B. Miller who survives.

Mrs. Miller graduated from Emporium High School in 1945 and was formerly employed in the offices of Dr. Joseph and Dr. Allen Blackburn in Emporium. She was a homemaker, devoted wife, and loving mother and grandmother.

She was a member for over 50 years of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, where she was president of the Altar Guild and a former Sunday School teacher. She was also a 56 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #194 of Emporium.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Jim, are: two daughters, Sandy Bresslin and Beth (Doug) Newhouse, both of Emporium; two sons, Jack (Sis) Miller and Dale (Joann) Miller, both of Emporium; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Lionel Minard, Jr. of Seneca Falls, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Park on Nov. 17, 2005.

Funeral services were held Friday, in the Emmanuel Episcopal Church with Fr. Matt Ryan, rector, as celebrant.

Burial was in Newton Cemetery, Emporium.

The family suggests memorials be made to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Cameron County Ambulance Service, or the Cameron County Public Library.
