United In Marriage
Mr. and Mrs. Norman H. Wightman

Milicent Ann Bennett and Norman Howard Wightman were united in marriage August 19, 2006 at the Austin United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Roger Laktash, pastor of Austin Free Methodist Church, performed the double-ring ceremony which joined the daughter of Penny J. Bennett of Austin and Richard C. Bennett of Emporium, and the son of Susan Wightman and Douglas Case of Welcome Lake.

Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a strapless, white, a-line satin gown adorned with crystal beading, split front overskirt and a chapel train. Her diamond and pearl tiara held a corded edge, finger-tip veil. She carried a bouquet of two dozen red and white roses accented with ivy.

Maid of Honor was Dionna Bennett of Williamsport, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Christine Wightman of Myrtle Beach, S.C., sister of the groom; Kathleen Schultz of Honesdale, friend of the bride; Jennifer Ryan of Philadelphia, friend of the bride, and Sarah Keller of Emporium, cousin of the bride. The Maid of Honor carried a single white rose and a single red rose accented with ivy. Each of the bridesmaids carried a single white rose.

Best Men were Christopher Case and Jason Case of Welcome Lake, brothers of the groom. Ushers were Christopher Bennett of Austin, Brock Hooftallen of York and Beau Hooftallen of Austin performed the duet "Broken" and Kathleen Schultz performed the solo "Inside Your Heaven."

A reception for 200 guests was held at the Odin Grange.

Prenuptial events included bridal showers in Welcome Lake and Wharton.

The bride is a 1996 graduate of Austin Area High School, earned her associate degree from Lackawanna College, and will complete her bachelor's degree in elementary education from East Stroudsburg University in May.

Her husband is a 1995 graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School. He is employed by William Case Construction and Bill Case Polaris in Welcome Lake.

Following the wedding, the couple returned to their home in Welcome Lake.
