Learn to make ornaments

A three-hour class to be held in Port Allegany next Thursday night will teach participants how to make five homemade Christmas ornaments out of cinnamon sticks, felt, walnut shells, paper and glass

This first class in the Potter County Education Council's "Make a Gift" series takes place from 6:00 to 9:00 at the Port Allegany Education Center, 8 N. Main Street. Instructor is Debbie Beckley.

A separate class is being held next Saturday for anyone wishing to create a "Christmas Star" quilted table runner.

There will be many different fabrics from which to choose. Participants should bring a sewing machine, thread, scissors, seam ripper, quilting thread and a bag lunch. Finally, on the evening of Thursday, Dec. 7, instruction will be provided for creation of a "Country Christmas Tree Skirt" adorned with calico teddy bears. No sewing is required.
