Charles L. Nitsche

Charles L. Nitsche, 81, of 40 West Fifth St., Emporium, died at Guy and Mary Felt Manor on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006.

He was born June 30, 1925 in Instander, Pa., a son of the late Charles W. and Anne Hoh Nitsche.

On June 30, 1973 in Emporium, he married Corinne Snyder Nitsche, who survives.

Mr. Nitsche graduated from Ridgway High School. He then graduated from St. Bonaventure with a bachelors degree. He served with the US Army Air Corp in the Asiatic- Pacific Theater during WWII where he received three Bronze and one Silver Star. He worked at the former Emporium Trust Company later becoming Bucktail Bank and Trust. He also owned and operated the former Little Shopper. He was a member of the St. Mark Catholic Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife is one son, David Nitsche of Buffalo, N.Y.; two daughters, Paula Mark of Williamsport; Lori (Dorr) Neely of Clinton, Calif.; two step-daughters, Diana Grant of Jamestown, N.Y.; Darlene (Donald) Levin of Jamestown; two step-sons, George (Judy) Brown and Alvin (Marilyn) Brown, both of Emporium; 16 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Margaret Rosenquist.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the St. Mark Catholic Church with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, as celebrant.

A Military Service was accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail.
