George Dill Goerge J. Dill, 82, formerly of Cameron County, died Saturday, (Nov. 11, 2006), in Fairfax, Virginia. Born June 3, 1924 in Sterling Run, he was the son of George L. and Alice Strawbridge Dill. On April 18, 1948 in Washington, DC he married SaraAnn Lackey who survives. Mr. Dill was a WWII Army veteran having served in the European Theatre of Operations. He was a 1942 graduate of Emporium High School and the Ft. Washington International Business Machine School. He was a resident of Virginia since 1947 except for two years in Saratoga, Calif. Mr. Dill was employed by RCA (Radio Corporation of America), where he was top computer salesman for many years and was manager of worldwide sales. He was later self employed and provided information and computer services and equipment to both government and private industry before retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Methodist Church and was founder and president of the public corporation Memory Sciences Corporation. He was a devoted and loved husband of 58 years, father and grandfather. Surviving in addition to his wife are: three sons, Wayne (Dixie) Dill of Deitrich, ID, Stephen (Beth) of Barboursville, Va., and Craig G. Dill of Remington, Va; one daughter, Charmaine E. Dill- Schoch of Culpeper, Va; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Earl L. Dill of Emporium; two sisters, Rita Wheeler and Norma Hickoff, both of Emporium; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Dill was predeased by one brother, Robert Dill and one sister, Florence Smith. Funeral and committal services were held Saturday, (Nov. 18) in the First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Gary Atkinson, Pastor, officiating. Burial was in Newton Cemetery. Military honors were accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail.
