North Country Voices will be performing a variety of seasonal music on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 3:00 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church, Coudersport.
The ensemble was established in 2005 to offer area singers an opportunity to perform choral repertoire with a goal of performing two concerts -- one during Advent and one in the spring.
From a setting of Christina Rossetti's poem "In The Bleak Midwinter," to "Have Yourself
A Merry Little Christmas," the program features a cappella songs and music accompanied by piano and a brass ensemble.
The group will also perform several of the Alfred Burt Carols.
These poems set to music were used as Christmas greeting cards for the Burt family in the 1950s and they have grown to be holiday favorites that have been widely recorded by popular artists and choirs.
The program will conclude with a performance of Handel's Hallelujah Chorus.
Conductor for The North Country Voices is Jack Krone with assistance from Gloria (Sevinsky) Richardson. Piano accompanists are Inez Lush, Anne Acker and Gloria Richardson.
The concert is offered free of charge but donations to help defray the costs of music and other expenses will be accepted.
