Volleyball team improves Cameron County's seventhand eighth-grade volleyball teams each showed improvement as the recently concluded 2006 season went along. The seventh-graders posted a 2-5 record during the first half, then closed with a 6-1 second half mark. Along the way, they showed improved serving and receiving. Shannon Sullivan was named most improved player. Holly Guisto was picked as most spiritied. Kayla Zoschg led the team in service points (56), spikes (7) and bumps (54). Maria Slusarik had the most aces (20). Hali Schloder led in assists (22). Eighth-graders started out with a 2-5 mark and improved to 4-3 in the second half. Krista Geelen was most improved and led in service points (5). Shalynne Schatz was most spirited. Karlee McLaughlin led the team in spikes (61), bumps (200) and aces (19). Other leaders were Bailey Tucker (2 blocks) and Sarah Keller (64 assists). |
