A group of girls from Coudersport, Emporium
and surrounding area came away with a 2-2 record during the highly competitive Turkey Day Basketball Tournament last week at the Zone Sports Park in Bath. David Matzinger, Stan Dunsmore and Kevin Teribery coached the sixth- through eighth-graders, who included (from left): front -- Nicole Teribery, Brooke Dunsmore, Tori Brown, Stephany Ellison and Kayla Hoohuli; back -- Megan Barnes, Tricia Ekas, Jenna Matzinger and Brianna Meehan. The team opened with close losses to strong teams from Warren County, N.J., and Montgomery County. They rebounded to score wins over squads from Queens, N.Y., and Hellertown. Many of the same girls will suit up again for the Dec. 26-28 Family First Christmas Hoopla in Erie.
