CVFD buying new fire truck Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department is buying a new fire engine, replacing a quartercentury old unit. Spokesman Glenn Dunn said the new engine will have a pump capable of delivering 1,500 gallons of water per minute. It will also have a hightech foam system, an in-cab self contained breathing apparatus, scene lighting and seating capacity for four. The four-wheel drive engine will be diesel-powered with modern communication equipment and air brakes. A $188,000 grant has been acquired from the U. S. Dept. of Homeland Security to help pay for the truck. |
