‘We stand firmly behind you’
An open letter to Time Warner Coudersport employees

Yesterday, Dec. 6, we learned that the majority of Time Warner Cable employees in Coudersport will lose their jobs early next year. While we can only imagine the wide range of emotions you are experiencing, we want you to know that we share your concern about the future. We are resolved to support you in any way we can.

Although some had long speculated that Time Warner would cease its operations in Coudersport, until this week our public agencies, community organizations and others affected by the news had little concrete information on which to base our actions.

Less than 24 hours after Time Warner revealed its plan, several local organizations sprung into action. Our group and others are reaching out to potential employers, pointing out to them the many assets the Coudersport community has to offer: a skilled employee base with

a proven work ethic; tax breaks and other

incentives for established or

start-up businesses; a high-tech infrastructure; reasonably priced real estate; a pleasurable quality of life. Our organization has

contacted agencies at the county, regional, state and federal levels to encourage a cooperative approach that we firmly believe can succeed. Please know that our 130-plus members and affiliates stand firmly behind you.
