Julia Cleary
Julia H. Cleary, 100, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006 at the Guy and Mary Felt Manor, Emporium.
She was born Nov. 26, 1906 in Emporium, a daughter of George and Margaret Prechtl Hout. In St. Mark Catholic Church she married Thomas Cleary Sr., who preceded her in death.
She was the last immediate member of her family. Mrs. Cleary graduated from Emporium High School in 1924. In 1971, she retired from Sylvania, where she worked for over 25 years. She was a member of the Sylvania Quarter Century Club, the St. Mark Catholic Church, C. D. of A., Rosary Society, the Cursillo and the former Blue Army.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen Clark, St. Marys; Mary (James) Laughlin, Emporium; one son, Thomas J. Cleary Jr., Emporium; 11 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren.
Mrs. Cleary was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, George, Raymond, Leo and Henry Hout; four sisters, Mary Housler, Margaret Specht, Clara Webster and Catherine Hout, and son-in-law, Walter Clark who died Feb. 10, 2000.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at the St. Mark Catholic Church with Rev. Paul S. Siebert as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mark Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Guy and Mary Felt Manor, St. Marks Catholic Church, or the Grove House.
