Donn E. Bonhoff

Donn E. Bonhoff, 72, of Emporium died at his residence Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, following a lengthy illness.

He was born June 7, 1934 in Olean, N.Y., a son of the late Clifford and Ruth Harrington Bonhoff.

On May 30, 1959, in Olean he married Beverly A. Cummings, who survives.

Mr. Bonhoff served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a retired engineer with Conrail. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, American Legion Olkosky- Jessop Post 194, Miller- Raffaele Post 6221 VFW, and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #368.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Donald R. (Marsha) Barton, William Barton and Thomas F. (Becky) Barton, all of Emporium, one daughter, Doris M. Robuck, Emporium; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Kidd, Painesville, Ohio, and Barbara (Roy) Snow of Slocum.

Mr. Bonhoff was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harry and Clifford Bonhoff; and one sister, Grace Learn.

Funeral services was held at the Barnett Funeral Home, with Rev. James Eastman officiating. Burial was in the Newton Cemetery.
