Jessica Weekley
(left) described the history and mission of the American Heart Assn. at a recent Emporium Rotary meeting. She also discussed the new Stroke Awareness Program and how important it is to recognize the signs of stroke and get help for stroke victims within the first 60 minutes. Weekley also described the “Go Red for Women” program. On Feb. 3, 2007, the Heart Association is asking everyone to wear red to bring awareness to heart disease, the number one killer of women in America. A student at Central Penn College in Harrisburg, the speaker is shown with Program Chair Bonnie Smith. In other news, visiting Rotarian John Mallery from Port Allegany was welcomed and the club regretfully accepted the resignation of Robert Horning. There will be no Rotary meeting on Dec. 26.
