A neighborly gesture
turned sour for an Emporium man last week, with results that could have been tragic. Paul Maholich of Emporium decided to move a pickup truck that was parked at the Pizza Palace Plus parking lot, allowing a patron to pull out of a parking space. However, after Maholich put Charles Skillman’s truck in reverse, the vehicle shot across Fourth Street, striking an unattended pickup truck and a sign before crashing into the Cabin Kitchen restaurant. There were no injuries. Damage to the exterior wall and a rest room at the Cabin Kitchen was estimated at $5,000. Police are continuing their investigation. Misty Travis photos
