SSA planning for new year

Sinnemahoning Sportsmen’s Assn. is looking for ways to extend its reach in 2007 and beyond.

At the group’s year-end meeting, attended by 25 members, Ray Savel suggested several alternatives to continue the club’s mission of supporting hunting, trapping, fishing, wildlife habitat and youth activities.

Everything from browse-cutting, stream improvements, tree-pruning, fish-stocking and planting of food plots for wildlife would meet the club’s objectives, Savel said.

Club members also reported that corn distribution for winter wildlife feeding will begin on Jan. 13.

George Lucas of Saxonburg won the oil painting of an elk that was used for a fund-raiser and donated it to the Frenchville Catholic Church.
