CHS girls' win streak snapped at 20
      Coudersport's win streak in girls' basketball was snapped at 20 Wednesday night, as the Falcons traveled to Bradford for a playoff-caliber tune-up against a strong Owls team. For once, the Falcons' vaunted defense failed to rattle an opponent's point guard, as Bradford claimed a 45-37 win to drop Coudersport to 20-1.

Area wrestlers looking ahead to D9
      High school wrestlers at Cameron County and Coudersport are winding down the regular season, with many of them preparing for the PIAA District 9 Championships Feb. 23-24 at Clarion University's Waldo Tippin Gymnasium. The two schools returned from long layoffs to square off for an abbreviated match on Thursday night in Emporium. The Red Raiders got the better of it, 54-12.

Coudy boys clinch NTL title
      Coudersport clinched the Northern Tier Boys' Basketball League championship Thursday night with an impressive 78-35 win at Northern Potter. Once again, the presence of the Falcons' twin towers, juniors Blair Heimel (6-5) and John Hau (6-3), was too much for the Panthers. Heimel scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Hau also delivered 20 points. The pair combined to block eight shots.

Broken arm didn't stop this motocross competitor
      A Potter County boy, nine-year-old Austin Kosa, returned from a six-week layoff due to a broken arm to claim third place in highly competitive motocross competition. Hundreds of riders from 23 states and Canada entered the 24-race American Motorcyclist Assn. District 4 series. Austin was recognized for his success in the 65cc Class during the recent District 4 Awards Banquet in Hornell, N.Y.
