      Mother Nature has been proving again that she can be a nasty lady. The tornadoes in central Florida and the Arctic blast that grips our region are just the latest examples. As uncomfortable as it is for us, it beats the heck out of waking up with nothing around you but rubble.

      In an era of bigger is better, Pennsylvania's smallest public school remains strongly rooted as the center of the community. Austin Area School serves a student population of 250, from prekindergarteners to seniors, in one building. While small classes can benefit students, providing professional instruction to such a broad range of ages and abilities can be a daunting task.

Dr. Bentley TV Show 'Awful'
To the editor:
      This is in response to your story of Jan. 27 concerning the "X-Testers" program on the death of Coudersport Dr. J. Irving Bentley, as well as the related issue of spontaneous human combustion. To our chagrin, not one nanosecond of any footage from Coudersport made it on-air - this, after they begged, pleaded and cajoled all of us into cooperating.
