Alumni Banquet plans announced
      The Cameron County Alumni Banquet has been scheduled for the evening of Saturday, May 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 in the high school gymnasium. This marks the 118th year alumni from the local school have gathered. This year, the alumni group will welcome class of 2007 members as guests of the association. Members of the Class of 1957 will be specially honored for their 50th anniversary.

      Several new books have been added to the collection at the Barbara Moscato Brown Library in Emporium. Among the new selections: The Fiber 35 Diet: Nature's Weight Loss Secret, by Brenda Watson, CNC with Leonard Smith, MD.

     Mountain Laurel Federal Credit Union was recently honored with its 11th consecutive "five-star rating" from Bauer Financial Inc., the nation's leading independent credit union rating and research firm. The recognition was based on past and present financial condition. Established in 1970, Mountain Laurel operates in Emporium, Kane and St. Marys. Bauer Financial has been analyzing the performance of U.S. banks and credit unions since 1983. Garden Club to host kids
      Emporium Garden Club members will collaborate with Family Center for an educational and fun meeting at 6:00 p.m. Monday. Guest speaker will be Cathy Straub from the Cameron County Cooperative Extension Office, who will bring the DB Pest robot and play interactive games with the children.

     Cameron County Drama Club presents "Here Comes the Judge!" Friday and Saturday nights at the high school auditorium. Curtain time is 7:00. The production, under the direction of Heather Smith, assisted by Teresa Gennocro, is a comedy that appeals to young and old alike. Tickets are availabe at the door for $2.00 (adults) and $1.00 (students).

SPCA rabies clinic May 5
      Cameron County SPCA is sponsoring a Rabies Clinic on Saturday, May 5 at the Emporium Firehall from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Cost is $5.00 per shot. Volunteers are needed. Anyone interested in helping should contact and SPCA member.
