Preston Mullens and Justin Moose were the kings of the hill during last weekend's Men's Member/Guest Tournament at the Emporium Country Club. They claimed the Championship Flight crown with a two-day accumulated score of 123. Second place went to McGinnis/Dillon, while McCallen/Adams placed third. More ... Proceeds from a July 9 golf tournament at Bradford's Pine Acres Country Club will benefit Helping Hands Retreat, a bereavement camp for children, located in Eldred. The Pine Acres/Bradford Hospital Foundation Pro Am, which dates back to 1990, raises funds for charitable causes. Sponsors hope to surpass a goal of $6,000 this year. More ... There may be no bigger Pittsburgh Pirates baseball fan in the region than Coudersport's Irvin Duell. A former Pittsburgh resident, Duell moved to Potter County to be closer to his family more than a decade ago. When he's not watching the Pirates on TV, he's usually seen on the streets of Coudersport, walking his dog with one hand while holding his transistor radio in the other -- tuned, of course, to the Pirates game. Duell was all smiles recently when he made his annual visit back home to catch a game at Pittsburgh's PNC Park. More ... |
