Coudersport students face drug testing
      Musicians, athletes and other students participating in extracurricular activities at Coudersport High School will be subjected to drug testing in the coming school year. A meeting for parents of affected students has been called for 6:00 Monday evening at the high school auditorium.

Two enter guilty pleas
      Andrew James Green, 26, of Emporium entered a guilty plea of driving under the influence during July court proceedings in front of President Judge Rich Masson. Case stems from an April 17 incident that took place on Plank Road Hollow. It was Green's third offense in a 10- year span. He will face a minimum of one year in jail. Green had a BAC of .206.

These neat numbers are in the news
      85 Some 85 percent of Americans age 16 and up now use cellphones. Internet use is almost 70 percent. Most of those who use neither are age 65 or above. 15B State lawmakers are considering a measure that would allow counties, school districts and municipalities to tax oil, natural gas and minerals. The bill is being championed by House Majority Leader Bill DeWeese.

      Missing teen located Searchers located a missing teenager in Sweden Township early Friday morning following a search of several hours. State police from Denton Hill said the 12-year-old boy, who is autistic, left a residence along Ice Mine Road and was reported missing Thursday night.
